Olivia Sexton is 17 years old and a senior in high school. She has always had a love for music and began to play piano at the age of four. Olivia has studied with Laura Strode, Dr. Iris Zahara, Dr. Michael Coonrod, and is currently a student of Dr. Kara Huber at the prestigious Interlochen Arts Academy.
Olivia has competed and performed as a soloist, winning high honors in the Chicago Area Music Teachers Association Sonata-Sonatina Festival, the Illinois Music Education Association Festival, the Illinois Grade School Music Association Solo and Ensemble Competition, and was was a semi-finalist in the 2023 David D. Dubois Competition at Bowling Green State University.
She has attended Interlochen Arts Camp since 2019 and most recently participated in the 2024 Oberlin Piano Festival.
In addition to her passion for piano, Olivia has danced competitively for fourteen years, plays oboe and organ, and is an enthusiastic member of many high school extracurricular activities.
Olivia plans to pursue a degree in piano performance and a career in music.
