Founder and President, Grace Lan, Piano

 

Grace began studying piano at the age of four and has studied with Ms. Shue-Fan Cheng, Ms. Elizabeth Borowsky, and currently with Ms. Mila Filatova. She is now a freshman at Hanover High School in Hanover, NH.  


Grace has actively participated in competitions and won top prizes, including first place wins at Manolov International Competition, South Florida International Piano Competition, and Elite International Music Competition, Young Artist Piano Competition, among others. She performed at Carnegie Hall (Weill Recital Hall) in 2019 and 2023, and Kaufman Music Center in NYC in 2022. She also performed as a soloist with Nashua Chamber Orchestra in 2019, and with Sempre Musick Orchestra in 2022 and 2023. She was accepted and participated in the 2024 Oberlin Piano Festival, and Music Without Borders 18th International Piano Festival in 2024.


Grace has a deep passion to perform for her community. Witnessing seniors struggling with isolation during the pandemic, she founded Harmonic Tie in 2022, with a mission to enrich lives across generations through musical engagement.


Besides the piano, Grace is passionate about conducting scientific research on the conservation of endangered orchids. She and her teammates were invited to present their research at the 23rd World Orchid Conference in Taiwan 2024 and received the Young Investigator Award.
