Andrew Y. Lu, 10th grader at the Oyster River High School, Durham, New Hampshire. He started his piano journey from 4 years old and how he is currently studying piano with Ms. Mila Filatova at Manchester, NH.
Andrew actively participated in international piano competitions. He received the first prize from International Competition “Musical Fireworks in Baden – Wuerttemberg” (2021, 2024), South Florida International Piano Competition (2022), Elite International Music Competition (2024). Andrew was the winner of New Hampshire Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) Competitions (2022) and recognized top prizes from Young Artist String Competition (2018-2024). He performed at the winner recital at MIT, Killian Hall in 2018, Carnegie Hall (Weill Recital Hall) in 2019, and Kaufman Music Center in NYC in 2024.
Since 2023, Andrew has been leading a cohort of students from the Oyster River School District to perform a series of music concerts at the elderly community, for example, RiverWoods and Harmony Homes in Durham, NH. He enjoys sharing his music talent with the communities.
In addition to piano, Andrew loves building robots. He won the Design Award at the VEX IQ Robotics World Championship 2023, and he received Excellence Award, Teamwork Champion, and Robot Skills Champion at the NH/VT VEX IQ Challenge in State Championship in 2022 and 2023.
